The project included the organization of debate tournaments on the high-school and University levels in order to challenge young and ambitious people to get involved in the current issues and raise their voice about them.

Public debating was chosen as a format suitable for the participants to approach problems from different perspectives and investigate in detail good and bad sides of each problem.

High school debating tournament involved 10 teams from Montenegro and other interested countries from the region:  Macedonia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. Tournament also involved 10 more teams from State and Private Universities from Montenegro.

At the end, the winning team of the high-school tournament debated with the winning team of the University tournament. The final debate was a public one, open for the media and citizens interested to monitor the debate and give their own inputs and comments.

Debate topics covered current social, often controversial issues, in order to build a constructive dialogue by expressing various points of view and motivate young people to develop critical thinking and analytical mind, which would in turn help them contribute to strengthening democratic institutions and preserving peace and security in their country and the region.

During the tournament a special guest – a professional debate trainer from Slovenia, gave a lecture on debating and professional advice to the participants.
