Main goal of the project was to introduce alumni (of A – SMYLE and YES programs) from different countries to each other and help them identify common interests and common goals we all have no matter from what country of the Balkans we are (membership in NATO, EU, recovery and development of economy, stability and lasting peace). By doing this, we hope that we will lay out  groundwork for future regional activities to be organized by alumni throughout the region.

MAYAA cooperates closely with Food Bank of Montenegro. (MAYAA members helped organize/participated in number of activities with this Organization in order to help people in need (refugees – children from refugee camp, families in need, single parents and their children etc.).

MAYAA members also coopearate with the United States Embassy in Montenegro and with the American Councils for International Education, a non profit organization from Washington D.C. that implements exchange programs all over the world.

MAYAA members (A – SMYLE and FLEX alumni) organized celebrations of Halloween (2010 -2020) , Black History Month, (2011 – 2020 ) Global Youth Service Day (2012 – 2020) and Earth Day (2011-2020) and participated in the T – MOBILE “Open Days” fair of education where we presented exchange programs funded by the United States Government to Montenegrin students.

In December 2020 MAYAA members” in partnership with U.S. Embassy in Podgorica, organized ‘’Civic Education Workshop’’,  a three week long online Workshop for 46 high school and college students in Montenegro. Civic Education School is an initiative with the main focus on raising awareness about the importance of being politically informed. The activism of youth, as one of our target groups, in socio-economic processes, as well as in democratization, are one of the crucial pillars when it comes to building an aware and healthy community.

Our organization also participates in promotion of the FLEX and UGRAD programs every year.

We hope to continue with projects in different fields that we hope will help strengthen the alumni community in Montenegro and in the Balkans and will contribute to different processes in all of our countries.
